Governor Hogan Requiring Face Masks for Marylanders in Public Locations

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan has signed an executive order, forcing all Marylanders in retail locations or on public transportation to wear face masks.

The order also requires all retail locations to require staff to wear face coverings and requires those businesses to put appropriate social distancing measures in place.

The announcement follows new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control that face masks would reduce the spread of COVID-19.

The Governor said the order takes effect at 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 18.
