Greensboro, Md. (DELMARVA NEWS NOW) — A Greensboro Police officer involved in the 2018 death of an Easton teen has lost his Maryland law enforcement certification.
According to local newspaper The Star Democrat, Officer Thomas Webster IV was stripped of his right to work as a law enforcement agent in Maryland by the state’s Police Training and Standards Commission. Webster’s conduct was investigated after 19-year-old Anton Black died in police custody. Back in September, Webster confronted Black after a 9-1-1 call regarding a possible abduction. Webster along with two other officers handcuffed Black. He later became unresponsive and died.
Black’s family alleged Webster used excessive force and profiled him.
