”UAS” can be used in a variety of industries including agriculture, communications, government, infrastructure inspections, insurance, surveillance, media, package delivery, photography, surveying and more. The most commonly known UAS is drones, which will now have a larger presence at Salisbury Regional Airport.

The Airport has announced a large 8,000 square-foot UAS flight facility, including a hangar and office space. “Our airport is already a huge economic engine and our new drone operations center will add to that impact and further diversify business in Wicomico” said County Executive Bob Culver.

The site will be operated by Sentinel Robotic Solutions, an aerospace company based out of Wallops Island.
