Sussex Tech High Student Arrested for School Shooting Threat

Millsboro, De. (DELMARVA NEWS NOW) — Delaware State Police have arrested a 15-year-old student for making threatening statements at Sussex Technical High School.

Troopers say on Friday, school administrators contacted Police after the student, identified as 15-year-old Andrew West of Millsboro made threatening statements following an altercation at the school. At which time, West became “extremely disorderly” forcing staff to intervene. He specifically used implicit slang remarks to threaten returning to school with a gun.

On Saturday, Detectives responded to West’s residence and took him into custody without incident. He was charged with one count of felony terroristic threatening. West was arraigned and committed to a youth facility on 5,000 cash bail.
