A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for the Delmarva Peninsula as Tropical Storm Isaias prepares to make landfall in the Carolinas.
The storm has maximum sustained winds at 70 miles an hour, with meteorologists expected the storm is briefly gain Hurricane strength prior to landfall.
Landfall is expected to greatly weaken the storm, downgrading it back to Tropical Storm status by time it makes it to Delmarva.
Early Tuesday morning through early Tuesday afternoon the Delmarva Peninsula will experience strong winds upwards of 50 miles an hour, with gusts up to 65 miles an hour.
The Peninsula will also experience rainfall amounts between 1 to 3 inches, with isolated pockets of over 5 inches of rainfall.
The worst effects of the storm will be felt along the Carolina coast with potentially deadly storm surge. Whereas on Delmarva, forecasters expect isolated flooding comparably to that of a severe thunderstorm.
